Honeyed with memories

Arunansu Banerjee

    about the sunshine today.
I shall soon be sailing away
with a fleet of Sarus cranes.

I shall be leaving you behind
in the care of a vast azure,

    the habitat of my gray-
    -stained seafaring thoughts
    .
Something is odd about the silence:
I notice an extra effort in your smile.

Each corner of the road bids me
    farewell; my luggage gets heavy

    with such smiles; some melodic
    moments lurk in your eye.
