Grandmother and me

Abbas Panakkal

    My grand mother
    and me visited
    the natural zoo.
    She inquired
    each animals
    and its backgrounds.
    When we reached
    before a deer,
    she talked about
    life and love.
    Grandmother knowingly
    discarded the lines of
    donkeys and monkey

    At a horse stable,
    she behaved
    like a spendthrift.

    We covered
    legendary corners
    of lion and leopard.
    Grand mother’s
    childish obstinacy
    Made me drive
    deep in to that area.
    I did never
    dare to drive
    the way again
