Lost

Mary Annie

    I lost my way
    when I took your hand.
Your hand weaved out a thousand roads
    within mine
I did not know which to take.
One led to the hill beyond
the other down to the vales .
The seas seemed right in front of me
    I walked right into it
the waves rushed in on me
i was blinded by its salty sting.
    The stars they seemed
    all coming down
i leapt out into their light
a thousand years did it seem
    as day turned into night.
Your hands led me to deeper glades
    forests i d never seeen
fruits i picked from the boughs
    its taste i cannot define.
The way was full of grass and green
I really din’t want to leave.
    But your hands
    slipped away and fell
and I was left all lean!
I groped for the way back home
    I seemed to be blind.
Having travelled the road thus far
with hands no longer to guide
I wandered along the dusty road
    searching for a light.
The light in the corner distant
just waiting for me to arrive
