The Gaze

Gopal Lahiri

    Those gloomy and moist eyes
The moment, held for a long time.

A face through a rain drenched window
One good wipe, you feel you know.

    Walking some distance
Winding my way down to the road,

Looking back and held the gaze
This time for an unusual longer time.

Wasn’t ask for anything in a jiffy
It was now cold and hard look.

    A little prayer would suffice
Or was it not making sense?

Still brought tears to my eyes
    My own sadness- doesn’t know.

    Chaos, suffering, pain
